IYMT’s much-anticipated West End Studio Series returns - direct to the comfort of your own home. Join four of the West End and Broadway’s leading names as they lead a series of masterclasses, designed to bring you to the next stage of your musical theatre training. Whether you are currently studying the craft at drama school or at third level, or have a real passion for musical theatre, these intensive sessions will hone in on all three areas of musical theatre training; acting, singing and dance.

Layton Williams is best known for his portrayal of Jamie in Everybody’s Talking About Jamie (West End). Other stage credits include: Kiss Me Kate (Sheffield Crucible), Hairspray (UK Tour), Lord of the Flies (Saddler’s Wells, London), Thriller (West End) and Billy Elliott (West End).

Rachel John is an Olivier-nominated actress, best known for playing Angelica Schuyler in the original West End cast of Hamilton. Rachel’s other stage credits include: Girl From the North Country (West End), Memphis (West End), Songs For A New World (West End), We Will Rock You (West End).

Lucie Jones most recently played Jenna in the West End hit, Waitress. Other credits include Les Misérables (West End), We Will Rock You (Arena Tour), Legally Blonde (UK Tour), Rent (UK Tour) and The Wedding Signer (UK Tour).

Learning Objectives

  • Young actors will work with leading industry professionals to gain a greater understanding of professional training and expectations

  • Each masterclass will focus on one of three strands of musical theatre training - acting (text and character), vocals (technique and acting through song) and choreography (conditioning and repertoire)

  • Young actors will gain direct insight into specific shows and material, including West End and Broadway hits: Hamilton, Come From Away, Waitress and Everybody’s Talking About Jamie
